We use succulent whole Atlantic Herring to produce a less salty and less intensely flavoured fish than our Kippers with a slightly gamey flavour.

Cley Smokehouse Bloaters are prepared in the traditional way and individually hung in our traditional brick kilned smoker where they are gently smoked with oak overnight.


Ingredients: Herring, Salt, smoke.

Keep refrigerated (store below 3 deg C). To enjoy your Bloaters at their best they should be consumed 1-2 days after delivery. (Important: Always refer to use by date on the packet).
Bloaters are suitable for home freezing (must be frozen before use by date). Consume within 3 months of freezing. Thoroughly defrost before use..
